About The Position

Provides field direction for one or more crews and executes project objectives; promotes safety, quality control, and constructs the project through administrative direction of the Project Manager and Superintendent, as well as mentoring the tradespeople. Compliance – Support the project team’s efforts to enhance performance metrics relative to profitability, risk management, safety, quality control, and standard operating procedures. People – Drive the development of craftspeople who may be on your projects. Identify candidates who may become future Forepersons. Client Satisfaction – Optimize client relationships through communication and operational excellence; focus on positioning for future work.

Requirements

  • On-site self-perform experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write daily task planners and safety plans.
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate and understand the requirements of various project types and to work with different personality types.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Viewpoint software, smartphones, tablets, and Total stations.
  • Must be able to read and understand project drawings and specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Motor Vehicle report required.
  • OSHA 10 hours required
  • Drug and Alcohol Screening
  • Transportation to and from the jobsite.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal apprenticeship training or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Journeyman improvement classes or equivalent experiences are preferred.
  • OSHA 30 hours preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote job site safety, create, and implement safe work practices.
  • Perform daily safety and quality audits and inspections.
  • Develop crew members through on-site training and exposure to new tasks.
  • Responsible for leading crew members through Pre-Task Plans.
  • Perform layout of new construction.
  • Complete timesheets for Shook personnel as well as daily logs for subcontractor work.
  • Provide leadership and supervise crews.
  • Quantify materials needed for given tasks (i.e., Forms, pipes, nuts, bolts, etc.)
  • Delegate tasks to crew members and hold them accountable.
  • Complete Understanding of labor budgets and productivity to accomplish scheduled activities on time.
  • Actively participate in the Collaborative Project Delivery (CPD) process, including analyzing project labor dashboards.
  • Record quantities daily.
  • Evaluate the schedule and take accountability for performing tasks necessary to maintain a given schedule.
  • Manage crew production to ensure tasks are completed within budget.
  • Organize materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Willing to work overtime and out of town as needed.
  • Participate in Pre-work meetings.
  • Perform first work inspections.
  • Identify and communicate with the project team on the quality issues and the solutions.
