About The Position

Ovation is seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Floating HVAC Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic facilities team. This position is essential in supporting multiple properties and a region by performing expert-level maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of HVAC systems. As a "floating" technician, you will provide regional support, including coverage during staff absences, high-demand periods, or special projects. The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC fundamentals, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a flexible mindset.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of HVAC maintenance experience (required)
  • EPA Universal Certification (required)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, schematics, low/high voltage systems, and precision tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel within the region for assignments
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning).
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC system issues, ensuring efficiency and optimal performance.
  • Respond to service calls promptly and provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including time, materials, and services, using a mobile facilities management app.
  • Provide regional technical support and mentorship to other technicians as needed.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and performance testing on HVAC equipment and controls.
  • Remain current on industry trends, tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Support maintenance departments with general work orders and unit turns.
  • Complete various special projects as assigned (e.g., painting, stucco, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, drywall repair).
