As a Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer II based at Rocket Lab’s headquarters in Long Beach, California, you will perform tracking, navigation, maneuver, trajectory planning, and collision-avoidance design and operations for Earth-orbiting, lunar, and interplanetary missions. You will work with subject-matter experts across Systems, Ground Software, Electrical, Avionics, Flight Software, Thermal, Propulsion, and GNC engineering disciplines, solving complex problems that may arise under time-critical conditions. The role contributes to mission design and readiness, spacecraft and launch-vehicle flight dynamics, real-time mission operations, and the development of simulation tools and flight-dynamics infrastructure. The position requires an active Secret clearance, the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance, and U.S. citizenship due to program requirements. The role may involve prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, as well as occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
