About The Position

York Space Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join our finance team based in our Greenwood Village office. The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process and financial reporting for a growing manufacturing organization. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally while supporting continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of combined Fixed Assets and general corporate accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years focused on Fixed Assets, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle Fusion Cloud strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, transfers, disposals, and ongoing tracking across the organization.
  • Own and manage the Capital Acquisition Request (CAR) process, including coordinating approvals and facilitating monthly meetings with key stakeholders to review the status of active projects and upcoming capital initiatives.
  • Apply a strong understanding of manufacturing processes (including work order flow and standard costing) to ensure proper accounting treatment of capital spend.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and finance teams to monitor Construction-in-Progress (CIP) projects and ensure timely, accurate capitalization.
  • Review and analyze capital expenditures for compliance with accounting policies, including capitalization thresholds and cost aggregation.
  • Lead CIP clean-up efforts, including reviewing aged projects, resolving open balances, and implementing processes to prevent future backlog.
  • Manage the fixed asset subledger, including depreciation calculations and reconciliations to the general ledger.
  • Lead physical asset inventory processes and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support lease accounting under ASC 842, including journal entries and ongoing reporting.
  • Monitor and accrue use tax on capital purchases in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to fixed assets and leases.
  • Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis for capital expenditures, providing insights to finance and operational leadership.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, and support internal and external audit requests
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across asset tracking, CIP management, reporting, and ERP systems.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by stepping into additional accounting functions and supporting broader team needs to ensure accurate, timely, and seamless financial operations.
