At the University of Oklahoma, the Fixed Asset and Compliance Accountant position is responsible for a variety of fixed asset and general accounting functions. This includes preparing fixed asset entries and schedules, performing general account reconciliations, and monitoring campus compliance with accounting policies. Strong accounting knowledge, ability to pivot and juggle multiple tasks, excellent communication skills, and top-tier customer service are expected in this role. Additionally, we are looking for individuals who are organized, flexible, and professional. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset entries. Prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset schedules. Maintain the accuracy of data within the fixed asset module. Perform periodic physical verification of fixed assets (including asset use for tax-exempt bond compliance). Prepare monthly fixed asset reconciliations and research variances. Perform other university account reconciliations. Perform analysis, inquiries, and department audits to ensure departments are following accounting policies and procedures (including petty cash audits, and reconciliation completion audits). Run general queries to be used for analysis. Investigate and resolve general ledger issues or inquiries. Assist in general financial management and analysis. Perform other related duties as assigned. Some tasks may include: Reconcile accounts Produce statements of financial activity Monitor departmental accounts Maintain department financial records Prepare financial reports to document activity, substantiate transactions, report findings, etc. Provide assistance to departments across campus Perform financial analyses for report preparation Ensure quality of data. Research inconsistencies and conduct follow-up investigations.
