Senior FinCrime Product Compliance and Risk Manager - Wise Platform
About The Position
At Wise, we believe that individuals closest to risks are best positioned to identify and manage them. We are seeking a FinCrime Product Compliance Senior Manager to support our Wise Platform Product team in launching and scaling Wise Platform for North America, specifically within the US and Canadian markets. Wise Platform is designed for other financial institutions or businesses requiring payment access to operate and serve their customers. Your primary responsibility will be to develop scalable processes for identifying and effectively managing financial crime risks across various existing and new product types, markets, and integrations globally. You will also engage in business development discussions, ensuring compliance while facilitating growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial crime compliance, with a focus on correspondent banking and/or Banking as A Service (BaAS) programs.
- Experience collaborating with external partners, as well as internal product and engineering teams, to develop tailored solutions for Platform Partners.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills, utilizing regulations and data to drive business decisions.
- Experience working with cross-border payments, specifically in the US and Canadian markets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to Wise offices in different countries.
- Legally authorized to work in the US.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product teams to define controls and interpret regulations, ensuring all new Wise Platform products globally have appropriate financial crime controls.
- Monitor emerging typologies and regulatory requirements for the US and Canada, implementing necessary changes with support from the 2LOD.
- Understand Wise FinCrime controls and work with the Wise Platform team and Global FinCrime product teams to implement any required changes.
- Communicate with partners regarding our compliance program and expectations, incorporating feedback into internal processes.
- Identify challenges to regulatory permissions and work towards unlocking growth through new licenses.
- Present on the Wise Platform product to regulators and/or auditors.
