About The Position

AIR Communities is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to support, govern, and continuously improve our Workday Adaptive Planning environment. This role serves as a key partner to Finance and Accounting teams, ensuring planning processes are supported by scalable system solutions, reliable reporting, and strong operational practices. This is a functional administration role focused on system design, model building, business process support, and reporting. We are looking for a collaborative professional with strong communication skills who wants to grow with our new team and the company. The ideal candidate understands not only how to configure Adaptive Planning, but also how system decisions impact business processes, reporting, and organizational outcomes.

Requirements

  • Around 5 years of experience supporting financial systems, planning applications, or enterprise EPM environments (10+ years is not required; we are targeting a growing professional looking to scale with the team).
  • Hands-on administrative experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, including clear proficiency with dimensions, attributes, levels, and sheets.
  • Demonstrated experience building operational models and writing formulas within a planning platform.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including experience with reporting add-ins like OfficeConnect) are required.
  • Conceptual knowledge of how staging tables and automated data pipelines feed EPM systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships, collaborate across teams, and articulate technical solutions clearly.
  • Solid understanding of core budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or participating in Workday Adaptive Planning implementations or optimization phase.
  • Experience designing, maintaining, and optimizing OfficeConnect reporting solutions.
  • Experience working within ERP, financial systems, or enterprise application environments.
  • Exposure to system governance, change management, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting Finance and Accounting organizations in a publicly traded or multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary functional administrator for Adaptive Planning, managing dimensions, attributes, levels, and organizational hierarchies.
  • Hands-on ownership of model architecture, including building and optimizing financial models and writing complex system formulas.
  • Design, configure, and maintain both modeled sheets and cube sheets, demonstrating a deep understanding of when and how to utilize each structure for optimal performance.
  • Maintain a strong conceptual understanding of how backend integrations and staging tables connect to the front-end application to ensure data integrity (direct developer/ETL coding experience is not required).
  • Provide day-to-day support for users, troubleshooting system, data, and sheet performance issues during core planning cycles.
  • Partner directly with Finance, Accounting, and leadership to translate complex business requirements into scalable system logic.
  • Translate technical system capabilities into clear, actionable business concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Help users across the organization understand system capabilities, features, and modeling best practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize OfficeConnect/HTML reports and automated reporting packages.
  • Evaluate upstream and downstream impacts of configuration changes and follow established testing and change management practices.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for system configurations, model logic, and formula structures to support cross-training and continuity.
