The Senior Finance Systems Analyst will coordinate and lead global activities across financial close, master data, system security, and interface management for the Beacon SAP system. The role requires translating finance requirements into system solutions, managing data integrity and controls, and partnering with IT and finance stakeholders to deliver improvements and transformational initiatives. This is a cross-functional role bridging Finance and the IT Center of Excellence (COE), working closely with global finance partners and corporate finance systems teams. Core responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Financial closing and related book close system activities, master data management, SAP BW reporting support, Interface management and user acceptance testing for system enhancements.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required (preferably with a degree in Accounting or Finance). Technical degrees will be considered with strong competencies in corporate finance or accounting.
- A minimum 3 years of relevant finance experience is required.
- A demonstrated interest in working with finance technology or ERP systems is a must.
- Strong combination of big-picture thinking and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to think creatively, propose solutions and work in a global team environment.
- Independent, problem solver mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and implement process improvements in a dynamic environment.
Nice To Haves
- Finance and hands-on SAP systems experience with the SAP modules FI, CO, PS is preferred.
- A CPA, CMA, MBA or other financial certifications is also preferred.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare industries is preferred.
- Work experience with international teams is a plus.
- Demonstrates an understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate global quarterly and annual financial closing processes with several Finance organizations as well as IT to execute critical system activities in SAP.
- Lead complex R&D organizational changes in SAP by identifying BUF requirements in the design of financial reporting hierarchies and structures that enable reporting.
- Maintain Global by Org (GBO) IM R&D financial reporting dashboard for accuracy and ensure changes are coordinated in partnership with FP&A and IT.
- Ownership of the integrity of the data interface processes including overseeing reconciliations and SOX compliance controls.
- Oversee the Beacon system security process, evaluate role design to ensure compliantly meets current organization needs.
- Act as the primary liaison between Finance and the Beacon IT COE for system change requests, enhancements, testing and incident resolution.
- Oversee master data creation requests and collaborate with data governance team to ensure requests are aligned with IM R&D standards.
- Participate in system implementation, integration and transformation projects.
- Proactively identify simplification or process optimization opportunities to drive continuous improvements.
- Represent the IM R&D finance organization in cross functional meetings (HPT) and governance forums.
