About The Position

The Senior Financial Services Officer is responsible for opening new accounts and performing account maintenance with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism while meeting the Bank’s high-quality service delivery standards. This role responds to the needs of internal and external customers by maintaining thorough knowledge of and introducing Bank products and services that may be of interest to them. Incumbents are typically highly experienced in new accounts and able to handle the full range of retail and commercial transactions. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

Requirements

  • 2 years of new accounts experience required.
  • 4 years of Branch Banking Operations experience required.
  • Solid understanding of Treasury Management, including wire procedures and policies, required.
  • Solid understanding of all key branch systems and basic end-user knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate, with the ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to take on operational responsibilities.
  • Ability to ask questions, listen to client cues, assess needs, and match products with client needs.
  • Responsive and able to establish and maintain internal and external relationships by understanding needs.
  • Ability to mentor others in the branch.
  • Polished communication style with the ability to communicate credibly, confidently, and influentially as the primary point of contact for client questions, particularly those regarding new accounts or products.
  • Ability to listen carefully to expressed needs and communicate with other departments to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Developing ability to use and understand business acumen.
  • Ability to take initiative to learn and grow, remain current on new products, answer questions, and act with minimal information.
  • Ability to identify appropriate actions, solve problems with minimal direction, and effectively manage multiple concurrent tasks.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all facets of new accounts, including opening and superseding accounts, performing account maintenance and research projects, ordering checks, and providing notary services.
  • Cross-sell Banc of California products and services through a thorough understanding of available services and customer needs.
  • Assist with daily and monthly audits and certifications.
  • Prepare new account documentation in accordance with the Bank’s Customer Identification Program (CIP), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and other Bank policies.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the legal documentation required for various entity types.
  • Comprehend complicated new account transactions and independently handle complex client requests with minimal supervision.
  • Input new accounts into IBS and submit complete packages.
  • Maintain knowledge of and serve as a backup for other operational duties, including Teller responsibilities and assisting the Branch Operations Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Assist with end-of-day closing activities, including vault and ATM cash balancing.
  • Assist with processing and scanning daily Teller work.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of Treasury Management products and identify opportunities to cross-sell these products.
  • Assist with training and onboarding new team members.
  • Participate in and contribute to the branch’s overall goals.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
