About The Position

We’re partnering with a growing Houston-based energy organization to identify a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant who will play an important role within its financial reporting and technical accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who has built a strong foundation in public accounting and/or the energy industry and wants broader, hands-on exposure to SEC reporting, technical accounting, upstream oil & gas accounting, financial statement preparation, and complex transactions. Rather than being limited to one narrow area of accounting, this individual will have visibility across the full financial reporting cycle and work closely with experienced accounting leadership in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment. The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will support the preparation of the company’s internal and external financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements while playing an active role in monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting activities. This role is particularly well suited for someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting but also wants to understand the underlying business. You’ll gain exposure to areas including revenue recognition, oil & gas accounting, reserves, PPE, depletion, impairments, derivatives, leases, cash flow analysis, audits, and SOX.
