Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Requires at least seven (7) years experience in governmental and hospital reimbursement with five (5) years experience working in a large healthcare system
  • Possess the core knowledge of Medicare/ Medicaid Reimbursement principles
  • Strong analytical and PC skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes new Federal and State regulations as proposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Prepares comments to be submitted by MHHS.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to calculate the impact of proposed regulations to MHHS.
  • Analyzes final Federal and State regulations.
  • Determine impact to MHHS and propose strategies to minimize negative impact to MHHS.
  • Interacts with Government Relations department to inform on areas and issues of importance to MHHS.
  • Prepares Home Office Cost Report to be filed annually.
  • Assists with MHHS Wage Index preparation.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
