About The Position

This job is responsible for serving as a finance partner to specified Lines of Business (LOBs) and providing financial analysis and guidance to support key decisions and initiatives. Key responsibilities include performing forecasting, profitability analysis, expense efficiency, pricing, financial reporting, and generating value creation ideas and new investment business cases. Job expectations include preparing insights to guide management's decision making and evaluating financial performance versus plans, forecasts, and prior periods. The role will be a Senior Financial Analyst for the Global Markets Forecasting process including Balance Sheet, Net Interest Income (NII), and Non-NII as well as participate in various tasks for the Global Markets Stress Testing team such as quality assurance testing and business reviews. The role offers high visibility and works with the Front Office, Business Finance Control (BFC), Liquidity, Capital, Balance Sheet Management, and Risk leaders to determine the best models, approaches, and variables to forecast what the Balance Sheet and Revenue change would be given various economic scenarios. The Senior Analyst will focus on specific sub lines of businesses within Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) and Equities. As a subject matter expert on the balance sheet for their businesses, they will work with BFC’s on updates to portfolio yields, understand recent portfolio trends and potential market impacts. The individual will lead all Stress Testing, Recovery, and Resolution for their businesses. The individual is the central coordinator for the many moving parts of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) forecasting, Baseline Corporate Planning, Resolution and Recovery Planning: Coordinate data collection and completeness Ensure data accuracy Analyze and attest to results and reasonableness Review portfolio macro variable impacts and associated spreads for balance sheet forecasting Provide reporting to senior management on how to interpret the results Provide reporting and answer questions for Enterprise Stress Testing, Legal Entity Controllers, local Finance teams, and Regulators Maintain up-to-date and accurate line-of-business model and procedure documentation Verify all requirements regarding quarterly cycles are followed per Enterprise Stress Testing (EST) guidelines The results are used in deliverables for the CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review), the Federal Reserve’s annual assessment of the capital adequacy for the largest and most complex U.S. Banks, and OCC’s equivalent DFAST requirement. Both mid-year and year-end reporting is required and is completed through the compilation of FR Y-14A reporting templates and supporting documentation. This is a unique opportunity to join a GBAM wide function, gain exposure to Global Markets businesses (Global Credit, Mortgages, Commodities, Equities, etc.) and financial drivers across the segment’s products and businesses, and work with leaders across the organization. Role does require the ability and desire to be able to work extra hours at peak quarterly times, as the entire team does.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2+ years in Finance
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills to lead or facilitate discussions across various levels of stakeholders and support partners and provide impactful analysis on forecast result
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and communicate across an array of stakeholders
  • Experience in automation
  • Understanding of, and ability to work with, complex Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong verbal communication, relationship building, and people skills
  • PowerPoint skills

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates Lines of Business (LOB) financial performances and assists with decision making by synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risks, and preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial results and key metrics
  • Develops financial management reports, presentations, and ad hoc analyses for LOBs and/or finance partners
  • Creates forecasts and budgets by comparing current performance against plan, prior periods, prior forecasts, and budgets and evaluating current and future performance trajectory
  • Supports reporting and analysis for key constituents and management, which may include Board of Directors, Investor Relations, and/or various regulatory agencies
  • Collaborates with teams across the Finance division to ensure integrity of the financials, sound controls, and efficient and effective procedures
  • Supports new and ongoing projects and strategic initiatives by creating processes to automate key reporting capabilities and delivering on process improvements and simplifications to enable increased focus on strategic priorities
  • Analyze and attest to results and reasonableness, present results to business heads and other stakeholders, and answer questions for EST and regulators
