As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly capable Senior Accountant (internally titled Senior Financial Analyst) to join our team. Requirements

  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of A/R, A/P, and G/L, including reconciliations
  • Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate at all organizational levels

Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly and monthly financial reporting engagements for clients, ensuring accuracy and providing meaningful financial insights.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements and executive-level financial commentary.
  • Drive forecasting activities, including identifying and explaining complex variances to budget.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Create advanced financial and operational reports that support executive leadership.
  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets, independently developing assigned sections.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis of actuals to budget and forecast.
  • Support capital evaluation and capital spend forecasting initiatives.
  • Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for transactions.
  • Ensure accurate recording of transactions, including vendor invoices, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Oversee and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and source deductions.
  • Prepare and remit HST and payroll-related filings.
  • Participate in process reviews and internal control improvements.
  • Lead client engagements independently with professionalism and accountability.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client operations and financial objectives.
  • Build long-term, strategic partnerships with clients.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support client decision-making.
  • Utilize strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Collaborate with software providers to enhance financial and operational reporting systems.
  • Identify and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in systems implementation and optimization initiatives.
  • May oversee junior staff or interns.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, and high-performance standards within the team.
