About The Position

GM Defense (GMD) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Program Finance Analyst to play a pivotal role in our strategic growth. The ideal candidate is eager to showcase their talents and make a significant impact on our success. As a Program Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting program financial performance to ensure GMD meets our financial commitments for both current and future programs. You will maintain accurate Estimates at Complete (EACs), driving revenue, cost, and resource expectations, ultimately maximizing program profitability. This is a key position where your insights will directly support program and financial management, helping to guide critical decisions and ensure the financial health of our programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with financial reporting/accounting concepts
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other office products
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within Finance/Controllership and with operating partners
  • Defense or Government contracting experience

Responsibilities

  • Partner proactively and collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders and other analysts, to translate financial data into insights and recommendations to help the business achieve its financial goals.
  • Prepare and maintain program financial forecasts (EACs, rolling forecasts, P&L, cash flow, production planning), ensuring accurate reflection of true cost expectations and alignment with contractual scope and schedule.
  • Develop and manage program baselines and plans, incorporating contractual changes and revenue recognition requirements (ASC 606) to maintain realistic and compliant cost and schedule forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze program financial performance, including variance analysis to actuals, risk assessment, and mitigation planning for cost and schedule risks.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ad-hoc analyses for program teams and GMD consolidated leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support investment, budgeting, and overall financial strategy.
  • Make the most of the internal business tools such as SAP (PEG) and Dassian for financial analysis needed.
  • Ensure standard processes are automated as far as possible and are working effectively.
