About The Position

This role on the R&D COE Finance Team supports the Global Technology and Innovation (GT&I) function through strategic FP&A activities such as modeling, reporting, and data analysis. Based onsite at Operational Headquarters in the U.S. and reporting to Global Finance R&D COE leadership, the role partners closely with GT&I and finance teams to ensure innovation initiatives are financially supported and aligned with Medtronic’s mission. In this exciting role on the R&D COE Finance Team, you will be part of a best-in-class Finance team, responsible for the ongoing support of the Global Technology and Innovation (GT&I) function. This role contributes to strategically guiding GT&I to their business objectives through strategic FP&A activities: modeling, reporting, data analysis and more. This role resides at Operational Headquarters (OHQ) in the United States (US) and reports to the Global Finance: R&D Finance COE Management. GT&I supports enterprise initiatives and technical capabilities as well as driving investments in innovation which help develop solutions to improve patients’ lives and enable the Medtronic Mission. The role will work directly with our partners in GT&I and the Global Finance R&D COE team in the US, ensuring GT&I’s critical work is understood, financially supported and strategically executed. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting or an Advanced Degree with 2+ years of work experience
  • Experience with cost accounting, lean transformation, and cost down initiatives are a plus.
  • Experience with GFS, OneStream and SAP.
  • Experience with Medtronic FP&A processes, systems and organizational alignment is a plus.
  • Experience with Global transactions, and an understanding of the complexities in supporting international stakeholders.

  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including revenue and expense analytics
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify key trends and drivers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Expertise in using systems and data to provide insightful analysis and implement actionable recommendations
  • High level of business acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate with limited oversight
  • Experience managing projects that require high collaboration across teams and building relationships
  • Familiarity with Medtronic financial systems, including SAP, OneStream, Essbase and Hyperion, or similar systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot and Word.
  • An MBA or CPA designation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Established and productive individual contributor, in FP&A and accounting subjects such as: analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements, working capital, asset management including depreciation, cash flow, variance analysis, business case preparation & related theories, and financial planning/forecasting.
  • Collaborates with GT&I, Finance, and other areas across the company as needed to drive results.
  • Solves Problems by understanding breadth of issue, recommending enhancements, seeks alignment and executes.
  • Communicates well and frequently with direct management and stakeholders
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and reporting
