Requirements

CPA designation
5+ years of experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements
Proven ability to manage all aspects of A/R, A/P, and G/L, including reconciliations
Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate at all organizational levels
all employees of Part-Time CFO Services must have access to reliable transportation and possess a full Ontario driver's license to commute to clients not accessible by public transportation.

Responsibilities

Lead weekly and monthly financial reporting engagements for clients, ensuring accuracy and providing meaningful financial insights.
Prepare and present monthly financial statements and executive-level financial commentary.
Drive forecasting activities, including identifying and explaining complex variances to budget.
Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics to guide strategic decision-making.
Create advanced financial and operational reports that support executive leadership.
Assist with preparation of annual budgets, independently developing assigned sections.
Perform detailed variance analysis of actuals to budget and forecast.
Support capital evaluation and capital spend forecasting initiatives.
Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for transactions.
Ensure accurate recording of transactions, including vendor invoices, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Oversee and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and source deductions.
Prepare and remit HST and payroll-related filings.
Participate in process reviews and internal control improvements.
Lead client engagements independently with professionalism and accountability.
Develop a strong understanding of client operations and financial objectives.
Build long-term, strategic partnerships with clients.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support client decision-making.
Utilize strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Collaborate with software providers to enhance financial and operational reporting systems.
Identify and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Participate in systems implementation and optimization initiatives.
May oversee junior staff or interns.
Model professionalism, accountability, and high-performance standards within the team.
