About The Position

Hypertec is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team in Montreal, Quebec. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is strong in financial planning and analysis while also eager to partner with sales, production, logistics, and operations teams to develop KPIs, identify efficiencies, and outline business drivers. The position reports to and supports the Divisional Director of Finance and offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on strategic decision-making while being a trusted partner across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA designation an asset).
  • 3 to 5 years of industry experience in financial planning & analysis, financial modeling, and business partnering.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to synthesize and present complex data to non-financial audiences.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of Power BI or similar visualization tools an asset.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One an asset).
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Manufacturing or product-based industry experience (asset, not required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, including monthly rolling forecasts and annual plans.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support decision-making, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Deliver accurate, insightful, and timely variance analysis versus budget and forecast.
  • Lead month-end close activities through reconciliation and journal entry review, and management reporting.
  • Partner with the Divisional Director of Finance on ad hoc analysis, strategic projects, and presentations for executives and the board.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards to monitor financial performance across business units.
  • Provide profitability and margin analysis at product, customer, and business-unit levels.
  • Lead pricing strategies, contract reviews, and commercial negotiations with financial input.
  • Enhance FP&A and BI tools, driving automation and process improvement within Finance.
  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, Production, Logistics, and Supply Chain to align operational performance with financial outcomes.
  • Define, measure, and monitor operational KPIs (e.g., throughput, utilization, order fulfillment, on-time delivery).
  • Provide insight into cost drivers and operational efficiencies; recommend improvements and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new business initiatives, investments, and process changes.
  • Connect operational metrics to financial results (e.g., COGS drivers, efficiency ratios, sales pipeline conversion).
  • Facilitate data extraction and analysis across multiple systems to provide clear insights for decision-making.
  • Contribute to lean initiatives, process standardization, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide headcount, productivity, and resource allocation analysis to support organizational planning.
