About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support our billing and financial reporting work. In this role, you will review data, prepare invoices, fix billing issues, and help customers understand their billing. You will work with many types of financial information and make sure our bills are accurate, timely, and based on the right rules and approvals.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with customers.
  • -42 mos. exp. or 42 mos. training in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • -Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. training in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • -Or completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. training in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • -Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Analyst, 66562.
  • -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, and financial systems is helpful. Some knowledge can be developed after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze service and billing data to prepare invoices.
  • Research and fix errors or missing information.
  • Gather and check data from program areas and confirm it is correct before billing.
  • Confirm that all bills follow the proper laws, rules, rates, or agreements.
  • Upload invoices into OAKS and check that billing posted correctly.
  • Issue credits or corrected bills when needed.
  • Track billing cycles to make sure bills go out on time.
  • Create reports and presentations using data from multiple sources.
  • Use tools like Excel, Cognos, OAKS, and other billing systems.
  • Prepare trend reports and ad‑hoc reports using Excel formulas, pivot tables, graphs, and other functions.
  • Work with customers, including state agencies and local government entities, to answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Explain billing methods and approved rates to customers.
  • Meet with program teams to review processes and suggest improvements.
  • Provide training to internal and external customers as needed.
