About The Position

This role involves gathering and analyzing data from various sources to ensure data integrity for financial analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide consistent, relevant, and accurate data, along with guidance on available data and definitions. The position requires identifying key barriers, creatively solving complex problems, and making decisions under uncertainty. The analyst will work independently on assignments, determining their own approach to solutions, and may oversee project completion. While contributing to employee development, this role does not involve hiring or firing authority.

Requirements

• BS/BA in a related discipline OR MS/MA in a related discipline.
• Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
• Certification is required in some areas.
• Ability to gather disparate data from various data sources.
• Ability to analyze and normalize data to ensure data integrity.
• Ability to provide consistent, relevant, and accurate data.
• Ability to provide guidance/knowledge of the data and definitions that are available for analysis.
• Ability to identify key barriers/core problems and apply problem solving skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
• Ability to make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
• Ability to independently perform assignments with instruction limited to the expected results.
• Ability to determine and develop an approach to solutions.
• Ability to receive technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
• May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
• Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to assigned client in area of expertise.
• Gathers and compiles raw data, conducts research for industry trends and benchmarks, and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format.
• Analyzes, reports, and makes comparisons to industry/company benchmarks. Determines trends and prepares cost analyses.
• Defines data definitions and documents data limitations.
• Prepares spreadsheets for data analysis. Prepares reports with charts and graphs, mailing lists, maps and ad hoc requests. May accompany Manager to meetings to assist with presentations.
• Provides recommendations based on findings and analysis. Provides input on policies and procedures.
• Participates in department and interdepartmental projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
