About The Position

Backcountry's FP&A team needs a Senior Financial Analyst who can own full business areas end-to-end — from building models and forecasts to surfacing the insights that drive real decisions. As Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, you will develop financial forecasts and budgets, maintain the company's 13-week cash flow model, and champion AI-driven improvements across core FP&A processes. Within six months, you will be the go-to analytical partner for your assigned business areas, with stakeholders at every level relying on your reporting and recommendations to guide strategy. This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, and modeling, preferably in retail or ecommerce
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial analysis software preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Hands-on experience applying AI and workflow-automation tools to streamline Finance processes and eliminate manual work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings to all levels of the organization
  • Understanding of how business decisions flow through each of the financial statements
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in treasury and cash management
  • Prior experience in a retail or ecommerce FP&A function

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data and build financial models that directly inform business decisions across your assigned areas
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements
  • Model and maintain the company's 13-week cash flow forecast
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop business strategies and plans grounded in financial analysis
  • Participate in developing financial policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Champion an AI-first approach to FP&A — identify steps in core processes where AI can improve speed and quality, and implement solutions ranging from CustomGPTs to automated workflows
