About The Position

BCAA is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to join their Head Office team in Burnaby. This role is pivotal in leading a team of analysts to partner with operational Directors/Executives across BCAA. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing annual budgets, monthly forecasts, long-range plans, special projects, and scenario analysis, presenting findings and recommendations to management teams. The ideal candidate is an analytical problem solver, embraces technology and continuous improvement, is highly organized, and can manage multiple tasks effectively. They should possess the initiative to understand the big picture, build strong relationships across all organizational levels, and communicate financial information clearly to diverse audiences. A collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance team members are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, or Economics, or equivalent with emphasis on quantitative analysis and methods.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting in a complex and changing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 software (Excel).
  • Applicants must be located within commuting distance of our Head Office or be looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Workday Adaptive Planning and Power BI an asset.
  • CPA or CFA designation (or equivalent education/professional accounting designation MBA, CA, CGA, or CMA).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of analysts in monthly forecasting processes (P&L, Cash Flow, Other Operational Metrics) using financial planning software (Workday Adaptive Planning).
  • Partner with Directors/Executives in operational areas across BCAA (Insurance, Evo Car Share, Evolve E-Bike Share, and Roadside Assistance).
  • Analyze monthly data and assist in producing commentary for the Executive team, identifying key risks and opportunities, providing budget-to-actual variance commentary, and offering recommendations on forecasted performance.
  • Support board of director and executive reporting.
  • Review and build capital expenditure project proposals.
  • Develop and manage analytical tools and processes to improve the quality and transparency of financial results and forecasts.
  • Utilize knowledge of Power BI and Workday Adaptive Planning to support business area tracking and reporting of operational data and key performance indicators.
  • Present analysis, conclusions, and recommendations via presentations and in written form.
