Senior Financial Analyst - Academic Funds Flow

About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing expense analyses, developing operational improvement plans, anticipating reporting and data requirements, forecasting and planning operating expenses, and supporting leadership on the use of financial systems and tools. The position also involves monitoring system compliance of key labor and expense metrics and supporting the design and development process to order clinical services. The primary worksite is Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, MN, with occasional shifts at the St. Paul, MN location.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field and 3 years of experience in an academic healthcare setting OR a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in an academic healthcare setting.
  • Experience with multi-entity operations across hospitals, clinics and academic partnerships.
  • Development of enterprise KPI frameworks, performance scorecards and benchmarking systems for large clinical networks.
  • Development of analytical frameworks and reporting processes that support expense allocations, incentive payments and compliance with academic and federally funded programs.
  • Development of automated reporting systems and continuous improvement frameworks across large enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in provider performance and quality improvement metrics and analyses and financial risk management in academic medical center programs.
  • Reconcile invoices, accruals, allocations consistent with complex multi-entity agreements.
  • Execution of complex reconciliation processes used in federal programs (e.g. CMS MIPS/QPP).
  • Interpretation and application of contractual provisions governing academic funds flow and service schedules.
  • Consolidation and analysis of large clinical, operational and financial datasets to support enterprise reporting and decision-making.
  • Integration of multi-system financial data including Epic EHR, HIE sources, SAP Business Objects and operational databases.
  • Building of financial reporting systems using Tableau, Epic reporting tools, SQL-based dashboards and related business intelligence platforms.
