Senior Financial Analyst

RokuDenver, CO

About The Position

Roku's FP&A team is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to manage the financial planning, reporting, and forecasting for Frndly TV, a Roku-owned streaming service. This role involves being the primary finance partner for the Frndly TV business, developing models, tracking performance, and providing analysis to guide decisions on subscriber growth, content economics, and profitability. The position is expected to evolve with AI's impact on financial analysis, seeking someone eager to leverage new tools and automate repetitive tasks to focus on strategic work.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical role
  • Strong financial modeling skills — you're fluent in Excel and comfortable building models from scratch
  • Experience with variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Clear communicator who can translate numbers into business insights for non-finance audiences
  • Intellectually curious — you dig into the "why" behind the numbers, not just the "what"
  • Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity; this is a growing business with evolving scope
  • Genuine interest in how AI and automation are changing knowledge work — you don't need to be an expert, but you should be experimenting
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in media, streaming, or subscription-based businesses
  • Familiarity with tools beyond Excel — SQL, BI platforms (Looker, Tableau), or financial planning software (e.g., Anaplan)
  • Exposure to subscriber/cohort economics or customer lifetime value analysis

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial forecasting and budgeting process for Frndly TV, including revenue, subscriber metrics, content costs, and operating expenses
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly variance analyses — explain what happened, why it matters, and what to do about it
  • Build and maintain financial models that inform pricing, content investment, and growth strategy decisions
  • Conduct ROI analyses on proposed initiatives, translating business cases into clear financial frameworks.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Content, Marketing) to provide financial perspective and support strategic planning
  • Identify ways to improve the speed, accuracy, and usefulness of financial reporting — including leveraging AI and automation tools to streamline workflows
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and confidence

Benefits

  • global access to mental health and financial wellness support and resources
  • Local benefits include statutory and voluntary benefits which may include healthcare (medical, dental, and vision), life, accident, disability, commuter, and retirement options (401(k)/pension).
  • Our employees can take time off work for vacation and other personal reasons to balance their evolving work and life needs.
