About The Position

This is a full-time term opportunity ending December 31, 2027. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the airport's insurance claim program related to major hailstorm recovery projects. You'll prepare insurance claim submissions, build and maintain financial models, analyze project costs and financial performance, and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders across the organization. Working closely with project managers, insurers, and business leaders, you'll help ensure project expenditures are accurately tracked, reported, and supported throughout the claims process. We're a collaborative team that values open communication, accountability, and supporting one another to achieve shared goals. While much of the work requires a high level of attention to detail and independent problem-solving, you'll regularly partner with stakeholders across the organization to gather information, discuss financial performance, and help drive informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC.
  • Bachelor Degree of Commerce in Accounting or Finance. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a combination of both
  • Possess CPA certification (Chartered Professional Accountant).
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and enhancing financial models.
  • Proficient in fundamental accounting principles in ASPE and IFRS.
  • Experience performing variance analysis and preparing financial reporting for business stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting month-end accounting activities, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit insurance claims and supporting documentation related to major hailstorm recovery projects.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial models used to support insurance claims, project forecasting, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Complete variance analysis and provide reporting that helps stakeholders understand project and financial performance.
  • Support month-end accounting activities, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Partner with project managers and business stakeholders to review project costs, gather information, and support forecasting activities.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support business decision-making.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and financial analysis for internal stakeholders, insurers, and senior leadership.
