About The Position

ASRC Federal Field Services, a Subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst at the Plum Island Animal Disease Research Center, located on Plum Island, NY. This is a Hybrid position that is 3 days a week onsite. The role involves supporting the annual budget process, reviewing expense trends, analyzing monthly results, and providing technical support for Earned Value Management (EVM). The Senior Financial Analyst will also serve as a key focal point for all project cost accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, budgets, and miscellaneous accounting. Additionally, the role requires performing general office duties and facilitating audit processes.

  • BS/BA Degree in related field
  • 5-7 years’ experience

Responsibilities

  • Support the annual budget process, coordinating with key budget owners to gather input as needed to help develop overall annual budget.
  • Review expense trends to maintain accurate forecast and distribute forecast updates as needed.
  • Proactively optimize the current reporting structure and analysis.
  • Analyze monthly results and research variances to budget and forecasts, providing Accounting, Program Control, and/or Function/Department feedback on adjustments as needed.
  • Distribute month-end budget v actual reports to Senior Management and develop reporting packages for these key stakeholders, addressing related inquiries as needed.
  • Provide technical support to Earned Value Management (EVM) program.
  • Compile and distribute various monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Serve as key focal point for all project cost accounting to include accounts payable, payroll, budgets and miscellaneous accounting functions.
  • Receive, review & process accounts payable invoices.
  • Code documents & process expense reports and monitor labor accounting codes.
  • Prepare & process a variety of request forms to ensure appropriate labor charge, pay corrections, accounting allocations.
  • Facilitate internal and external audit processes.
  • Perform general office duties such as maintaining records management systems and performing basic bookkeeping work.
