The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting both accounting operations and financial planning & analysis to ensure financial accuracy, budget management, and control. This role plays a key role in identifying opportunities to streamline reporting, automate processes, improve data accuracy, and financial visibility across the organization. This position will involve supporting contract reviews for proper financial terms and risk mitigation. Domestic travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Must be able to use accounting and ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, BAAN, Sage, etc.) to manage project financial data
  • Must be able to break down complex financial data into insights that non-finance stakeholders can understand
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills, including advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, data analysis)
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies established by FMSNA and have high values for safety awareness
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5 Years of experience in Public Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or a hybrid combination of both required
  • Working knowledge of the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) required, knowledge in both is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee project financials, including budgeting, cost tracking, billing, invoicing, revenue, and expenses for project profitability
  • Monitor expenditures, perform variance analysis (actual to budgeted costs), communicate drivers, and provide decision support to department leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation, audit-ready documentation, and compliance with accounting standards and contractual/regulatory requirements
  • Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial modeling to guide decision-making and performance optimization
  • Analyze financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and deliver actionable insights on trends, drivers, and risks to leadership
  • Act as a consultative advisor, recommending cost optimization and process improvements, developing and presenting data-driven reports (e.g., forecasts, insights, etc.) to support cross-functional business initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
