About The Position

The School of Nursing at Emory University seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to coordinate major financial reporting and budgeting activities. This role ensures compliance with regulations and reporting requirements, manages the correction of account balances, resolves funding issues, and maintains proper accounting controls and procedures. The analyst will make recommendations to management regarding long-range financial and cash flow analyses, and prepare and analyze statistical and financial reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules. Responsibilities may also include assisting with department/organizational budgets, managing grant agreements and reporting, performing indirect cost analysis, and potentially supervising staff. Additional duties involve distributing monthly financials, meeting with department directors for forecast reviews, approving financial transactions, creating monthly forecasting reports, updating policies, supporting continuing education and learning centers, assessing current models, analyzing revenue and expenses, assessing profitability, and assisting with revenue generation strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or a related field.
  • Four years of financial analyst or accounting experience.
  • Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates major financial reporting and budgeting activities.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates the correction of account balances, resolves funding issues and maintains proper accounting controls and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations to management related to long-range financial and cash flow analyses.
  • Prepares and analyzes statistical and financial reports, financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring department/organizational budgets.
  • May maintain grant agreements, policies and guidelines; coordinate grant reporting requirements; review grant funding source compliance; and negotiate grant funding with awarding agencies.
  • May perform indirect cost analysis.
  • May hire, train, and supervise a small staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Create and distribute monthly financials to assigned departments.
  • Meet with department Directors monthly to review monthly forecasts and financials.
  • Review and approve Emory Express, Expense Reports, RSTs, JEs, etc.
  • Monthly forecasting reports.
  • Create and update current policies and procedures.
  • Continuing Education Support.
  • Work with leadership to assess the current model.
  • Create monthly reports on revenue and expenses.
  • Assess profitability.
  • Assist with revenue generation strategies.
  • Emory Nursing Learning Center Support.
  • Assess full cost of the Align Program.
