About The Position

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, focusing on helping people with diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be part of the Global Operations and Quality Finance department at the headquarter in Alameda, CA. This role supports the Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area, including Quality Assurance, Post Market Surveillance, Technical Quality Assurance, and Quality Excellence, by providing financial analysis and support. The Senior Analyst will execute a wide range of financial planning and analysis and decision support activities, encompassing general accounting, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and internal control to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics)
  • 3-5 years financial analysis / FP&A experience
  • Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and systems
  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
  • Highly Proficient in MS Office especially Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data to make recommendations as well as problem solve

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree / MBA preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion EssBase, and Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the month-end close process of Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area based in Alameda, CA in compliance with Division and Corporate reporting requirements.
  • Preparation and validation of journal entries (including interaction with Genpact and Corporate Financial Services teams).
  • Actuals reporting and analysis of actual vs forecast.
  • Responsible for ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled as per agreed timings, explaining balance sheet fluctuations and review resulting analysis with the Assistant Controller at least quarterly.
  • Perform the forecasting, and analysis function for operating expenses, capital and project expenses, and balance sheet for Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area.
  • Responsible for the assets management of Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area based in Alameda including assets settlement and periodic asset verification.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are followed.
  • Manage a liaison relationship with Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area providing guidance and support in finance related matters for proper forecasting and business support.
  • Participate in ad hoc/periodic meetings and projects from Global Quality Assurance and Compliance.
  • Responsible for establishing, developing, and implementing appropriate processes and procedures to ensure that the financial planning process provides for efficient and effective decision support tools for senior management.
