The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for developing complex financial models, conducting research and analysis, assisting with financial planning, and analyzing financial statements and reports. This role involves creating sophisticated financial models, preparing cost reports and profitability studies, and analyzing financial data to predict performance. The analyst will design multi-variable, multi-year financial models, build scenario-based forecasts, and produce periodic forecasting and long-range planning. Key responsibilities include analyzing actual results against budget, building and maintaining various financial models, and conducting sensitivity analyses. The role also requires investigating significant variances, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation strategies. The Senior Financial Analyst will perform detailed analysis for management requests, provide insights into operational performance, and prepare KPI dashboards and presentations. They will monitor key financial metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and evaluate investments and strategic projects. Additionally, this position involves reviewing the work of finance analysts, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior team members. The role also entails preparing reports for government agencies, including UDS reports, Annual Utilization Reports, and cost reports for various grant-related entities, and participating in audits. Interpreting regulatory changes and their financial impacts, preparing financial impact analyses for rate submissions, and leading the preparation and reconciliation of cost reports for Medi-Cal, Medicare, and HRSA are also key duties. The Senior Financial Analyst will assist with month-end and year-end close activities, review accruals, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate management reporting. They will analyze account balance variances, develop optimal methods for communicating financial information, and prepare schedules for the annual financial audit. Ensuring the accuracy of financial data feeding EPM, BI, and reporting systems, and being responsible for designing, redeploying, and maintaining the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform are critical. This includes partnering with the Director of Finance to redesign the EPM platform, collaborating with IT and Finance leadership to build enterprise dashboards, automate reporting pipelines, and streamline processes using AI automation tools. The role aims to improve forecasting, reporting, and data-management processes, automate recurring reports, and strengthen financial controls and data quality. Adherence to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy and the ability to present to and work at any FHCN location are also required.
