About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst owns the calculation, analysis, reconciliation, and recording of revenue in a dynamic and evolving business environment. This role requires strong analytical skills to work with large datasets, identify and resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP (ASC 606) while driving scalable processes and data integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven track record of academic and professional excellence
  • 3 to 6 years of related professional experience, preferably with exposure to revenue accounting (ASC 606)
  • Experience working with large datasets, data analysis, and reconciliations required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, large data manipulation)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business conditions
  • Demonstrated ownership and urgency, with the ability to drive issues to resolution and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines
  • Ability to build trusted cross-functional relationships to drive alignment, resolve data issues, and improve processes
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on scalability and automation
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to stay organized while delivering results

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-growth, technology, or subscription-based business model is preferred
  • CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP) preferred
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) or database management tools (SQL, DBeaver) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform revenue accounting activities including calculation, recording, and reconciliation of revenue, commissions, and related balances
  • Analyze large and complex datasets from multiple systems to ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue reporting
  • Partner cross-functionally (FP&A, Operations, IT) to identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies and improve data integrity
  • Develop and maintain amortization and other detailed revenue schedules supporting deferred and recognized revenue
  • Prepare and review revenue and reserve related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and a timely close
  • Perform variance analysis (month-over-month, actual vs. forecast) and clearly communicate drivers of change
  • Prepare monthly invoices, manage internal review process, and submit to clients timely
  • Partner cross functionally to resolve invoicing inquiries from clients and ensure receivables are collected timely
  • Participate in system implementations, enhancements, and UAT testing related to revenue and data flows
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reduce manual effort
  • Assist with various ad-hoc requests from business partners in a timely manner
  • Enhance the documentation of key internal controls, processes, and procedures
  • Provide support and assistance to external auditors for annual audits
