About The Position

KidsAbility is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Planning and Reporting to play a strategic role in shaping the organization’s financial future. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, you will partner with leaders to drive budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and performance analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your strong analytical expertise with relationship building skills to support informed decision making, enhance financial performance, and contribute to KidsAbility’s mission.

Requirements

  • Completed undergraduate degree in business, commerce, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards required.
  • More than five (5) years’ progressive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of not-for-profit accounting rules and standards.
  • Proficiency with Power BI & Excel required.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities, combined with excellent communication skills to articulate financial insights across internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Sound judgement and discretion.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the health or social services sectors an asset.
  • Sage Intacct, ADP, and Co-Pilot experience are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the annual operating budget development cycle, developing comprehensive budgets aligned with funder agreements and strategic goals.
  • Monitoring operating and capital budgets, preparing financial statements and board reporting packages, and providing variance analysis and insights.
  • Supporting compliance with funding agreements and reporting requirements while identifying financial trends and communicating key findings to senior leadership.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models, dashboards, and key performance indicators that support short and long-term forecasting and scenario analysis
  • Partnering with leaders to strengthen financial literacy and support operational planning.
  • Collaborating with finance team members to enhance financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Serving as a key contact for senior leadership, external funders, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
