The Senior Financial Analyst Ottava Supply Chain will report directly to the Ottava Supply Chain Senior Finance Manager in support of providing financial leadership and guidance to the overall Ottava Supply Chain business organization. This role serves as a key business partner to both plant manufacturing and supply chain leadership, driving cost transparency, operational efficiency, and optimization of the Cost of Goods Sold in support of optimal Ottava program profitability. The position combines hands-on supply chain and cost accounting expertise with financial leadership, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards while delivering insights that support data-driven decision-making. Additionally, this position will partner with the broader MedTech Surgery Supply Chain, MedTech Surgery FP&A, RAD Supply Chain and the Ottava program finance teams in support of accurate, timely and compliant accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting total Cost of Goods Sold for Ottava Supply Chain operations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Supply Chain Operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of finance or accounting experience is required.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite & Excel skills required.
  • Must possess the ability to partner with associates at all levels of the organization and have strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • The ability to maintain and improve consistent and sound business processes in a dynamic, global environment is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Supply Chain and Cost Accounting experience is preferred.
  • CPA or MBA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Accounting & Analysis for a manufacturing plant including detailed variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and identify cost drivers.
  • Analyze and report production costs, margins, and profitability by product and site.
  • Identify and lead cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
  • Lead aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes as they related to manufacturing production work orders and month-end settlement processes.
  • Prepare and review production related financial reports, perform reconciliations, and provide variance commentary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate site-level reporting included.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and roll forecasts for the site.
  • Monitor performance against budget and explain key variances.
  • Support long-term financial planning and scenario modeling.
  • Present financial results and forecasts for site leadership
  • Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.
  • Support the accurate valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Support certain aspects of materials master data maintenance and product costing.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels and working capital.
  • Monitor and report on purchase price variances (PPV) and supply chain costs.
  • Act as financial advisor to plant leadership and supply chain operational teams.
  • Guide and help to translate financial data into actionable operational insights.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics functions to improve efficiency and cost performance.
  • Support pricing, sourcing, and strategic decision-making.
  • Support to ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and corporate policies.
  • Support to maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and inventory.
  • Support internal and external audits, including inventory and financial audits.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks at the site level.
  • Evaluate and track capital expenditure (CapEx) projects and ROI
  • Support capital appropriation requests (CARs) and post-investment reviews
  • Provide financial modeling for automation, capacity expansion, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborating with business partners to understand manufacturing cost of goods sold, interpret manufacturing variances, understand manufacturing trends and the impacts of a complex and evolving supply chain organization to the costs.
  • Support and help to prepare the proper recognition of Cost of Good Sold including the preparation of accounting journal entries as appropriate
  • Support the proper forecasting and budgeting for COGS for all of the business planning cycles including the annual business plan, long range financial plan, forecasts, actual vs budget reviews, ad-hoc analyses, and serve as a key point of contact for the Ottava Supply Chain business organization
  • Provide financial support for innovation processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and special projects.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc requests as required.
  • The ability to challenge business assumptions, develop alternative scenarios, and educate business partners on financial concepts is required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong financial leadership by providing recommendations for improving the value of financial information, providing guidance to business partners, and developing robust framing for senior management presentations.
