Okta is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Finance team, serving as a dedicated business partner to the Marketing organization. This role involves acting as the financial co-pilot for the CMO organization, managing a significant portion of Okta’s investment in growth. The analyst will not only track numbers but also help shape them, partnering with Marketing Leadership & Operations to drive ROI-based decision-making and ensure efficient capital deployment for pipeline and revenue generation. Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Investment Banking (SaaS/Software experience preferred).
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides skills, with the ability to build complex models and executive-ready presentations from scratch.
  • Ability to distill complex financial data into clear, actionable narratives for non-finance leaders.
  • Familiarity with Anaplan, NetSuite, Coupa, Salesforce, Workday, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) to accelerate analysis, automate reporting, and drive productivity gains.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision.

  • Experience supporting a Go-To-Market (Sales or Marketing) organization.
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, Churn, Retention, Magic Number).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point person for all Marketing budget-related questions.
  • Develop deeper, strategic partnerships with key verticals (e.g., Demand Gen, Digital, Product Marketing), building strong relationships with budget owners to interpret financial results and influence operational decisions.
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles for Marketing Opex and Headcount in Anaplan, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with shifting business priorities.
  • Serve as the point person to review and approve POs and spend.
  • Partner closely with Recruiting, the Chief of Staff, and HR to keep headcount forecasts and hiring pace aligned with the approved plan, flagging variances early.
  • Prepare and present monthly Budget vs. Actuals (BvA) decks, along with other impactful presentations for QBRs, Ops Reviews, and CMO/Finance leadership meetings.
  • Dig into variance drivers, identify risks/opportunities, and articulate the "why" behind the numbers.
  • Support pipeline forecasting and funnel analysis (e.g., funnel conversion and velocity) alongside key marketing efficiency metrics such as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), LTV, and Marketing ROI.
  • Partner with Marketing Ops to help the business understand program spend efficiency and pipeline health.
