About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst – Corporate FP&A is the primary finance partner for FirstKey Homes’ portfolio views. This role owns the portfolio performance section of the Monthly Operating Review (MOR), leads the monthly portfolio performance review with the Finance leadership team, and serves as the resident expert on portfolio performance across the full P&L. The analyst builds a nuanced understanding of the operational and financial drivers behind portfolio performance, crafts clear variance narratives, and collaborates across functions to give the Finance team a comprehensive, real‑time view of individual portfolio results. The position also supports the Manager of Corporate FP&A in balance sheet and cashflow reporting, preparing quarterly investor reporting, competitive analysis, and the development of rolling forecasts and annual budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Statistics or equivalent work experience and/or education
  • 2 years of progressive experience in a financial or business analyst role
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to partner and influence business partners across an organization
  • Experience preparing and presenting financial data for Finance and Operational leaders
  • Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles / practices, basics of financial markets, analysis and reporting of financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject‑matter expert on individual portfolio monthly results across all P&L lines (revenue, controllable and non‑controllable expenses, NOI, capital spend, and property management fees).
  • Investigate drivers of individual portfolio performance, quantify risks/opportunities.
  • Partner with Accounting, Operations and our ownership team to ensure timely, accurate portfolio close.
  • Lead first‑pass individual portfolio review meeting, present key variances versus forecast, budget, and prior year, and capture action items for ELT & ownership team discussion.
  • Prepare individual portfolio performance MOR package, consolidating data from core systems (Yardi, OneStream, Power BI).
  • Build and maintain driver‑based models to forecast individual portfolios at the property, market, and consolidated levels.
  • Assist in forecasts and annual budgets preparation; gather assumptions, consolidate outputs, and prepare support material for senior leadership reviews.
  • Support preparation of quarterly investor reporting packages, board materials, and debt covenant reporting related to individual portfolios.
  • Support the quarterly competitive analysis of public SFR peers; synthesize findings for executive presentations.
  • Assist in balance sheet and cashflow monthly reporting as well as variance analysis and forecast production.
  • Automate recurring analyses and dashboards in Power BI, champion FP&A best practices and internal controls.
  • Perform strategic and ad-hoc analyses as assigned.
