Senior Financial Analyst, COGS
About The Position
RingCentral is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, COGS to join their FP&A team. This role will oversee financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for Subscription COGS and IT functions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives. The analyst will partner with operational leaders to provide insights into cost drivers, trends, and opportunities for efficiency and savings. This position involves developing financial models, conducting scenario analyses, monitoring monthly performance against budget, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes. The role also includes leading and mentoring a small team of offshore resources and presenting findings to senior leadership. A key responsibility is to continuously design, develop, and automate the unit COGS model, extract data from internal systems, lead analytics projects, and monitor key trends. The analyst will work independently and in conjunction with FP&A, Accounting, Revenue, Subscription COGS, and IT teams, and fulfill ad-hoc analytical requests.
Requirements
- Public and private cloud COGS experience.
- Great at analyzing data, modeling, communicating the numbers and influencing business partners.
- Background of supporting CTO/Technology org in the past.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and close attention to detail.
- Advanced level user in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally).
- Strong presentation, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver high quality results while working in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Anaplan.
- Lead automation projects, leveraging technologies such as Anaplan, ChatGPT, Tableau, etc.
- Previous experience supporting COGS with a focus on identifying cost drivers and leading initiatives that improve operational efficiency.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
- Understanding of SaaS business model and cloud (public and private cloud) operations.
- Project management skills.
- Experience leveraging AI to power analytics and reporting for executives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes for Subscription COGS and IT functions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide insights into cost drivers, trends, and opportunities for efficiency and savings.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support investment decisions and cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor and report on monthly performance against budget, delivering variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a small team of offshore resources to ensure high-quality deliverables and career growth.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior finance leadership and business stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
- Continuously design, develop, and automate the unit COGS model.
- Extract required data from internal systems, lead analytics projects, and monitor key trends in relevant metrics.
- Work independently and in conjunction with FP&A, Accounting, Revenue, Subscription COGS, and IT teams.
- Fulfill ad-hoc analytical requests as needed.
- Budget OPEX and CAPEX.
- Create monthly BvAs to understand variances to forecast.
- Manage headcount and POs.
- Consolidate financials for Subscription COGS and IT.
