About The Position

Join Emory University's Financial Aid team as a Senior Financial Aid Advisor and play a key role in administering student loan programs that support student success across the university. Requirements

Bachelor's degree and two years of financial aid or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Residency in the state of GA.

Responsibilities

Evaluates student loan requests and packages financial aid within appropriate guidelines and regulations.
Maintains scholarship-related data transfers and processes scholarship files.
Monitors compliance with federal and state regulations governing student aid.
Develop policies, procedures, and programs related to functional processes.
Represents the department in various committees.
Enhances the mission of the Office of Financial Aid by providing exceptional customer service.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
Process private loan certification requests, including packaging of funds in the FAMS (PeopleSoft), completing certification steps, and communicating with students/families regarding certification questions or issues, as appropriate.
Assign/populate destination variables for the transmittal of certification information to ELM Resources.
Correct loan rejections in ELM.
Contact lenders, guarantors, and/or services to resolve loan issues.
Meet with lenders to discuss products and loan-related issues.
Process Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS loans for an assigned portfolio of students.
Review, and resolve, loan-related issues including, but not limited to, those identified by validation, origination, on hold, and mismatch reports.
Assist with system configuration and set-up to support annual loan processing.
Assist and/or provide guidance to Financial Aid Advisors on student loan issues.
Prepare and/or assist in loan training for OFA staff.
Attend loan-related conferences and virtual training sessions.
Work to ensure OFA staff are informed of any loan processing changes or significant challenges.
Maintain relevant policy and procedure documents.
In coordination with OFA Scholarship team, maintains import/export processes to ensure the successful transfer of data between FAMS (PeopleSoft) and third-party scholarship platform (Blackbaud Award Management).
Process scholarship swaps in FAMS include report generation, testing, file loads, and error resolution.
Assist with system configuration and set-up to support annual processing.
