About The Position

Reporting to the Finance Manager - After-Market Service, the Senior Financial Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting all financial activity across actual transacting, planning, and reporting for the AMS Segment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of four years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership, operational teams, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, dashboards, charts, and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrates commitment to departmental, regional, and enterprise-wide objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation (or equivalent CA, CMA, or CGA designation) preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards and SOX compliance requirements preferred.
  • Experience working in an MRP environment and SAP preferred.
  • SAP BPC financial consolidation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Project accounting/financial reporting for the U.S. AMS segment (including POC revenue recognition).
  • Process monthly and quarterly journal entries included but not limited to inventory reserve, warranty reserve, sales commissions, revenue/COS accruals, and ad hoc related adjustments to the P&L.
  • Process transactions within SAP throughout the month and for month-end closing activities
  • Ensure general ledger reconciles at month end (i.e. “FI to PA”).
  • Monthly reconciliations: Inventory, WIP, Deferred Revenue, Unbilled Revenue, etc.
  • Key preparer for SOX controls in the AMS department.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and management reporting.
  • Compile and communicate various month-end analyses for Branch and corporate management.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly project review file and prepare relevant comments on variances.
  • Update and enter data into BPC (Corporate Consolidation Tool) for continuity schedules.
  • Update monthly continuity schedules for month end and supplemental schedules for quarter end close (Direct material inventory, WIP, external Revenue, Bookings and Backlogs, Warranty reserve, and Inventory reserve).
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on SOX controls and testing materials when required.
  • Point person to invoice all Retrofit jobs related to milestone intervals and change orders in accordance with customer contracts.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned by Manager, Finance - AMS, to support regional and corporate requirements.
  • Drive process improvement across the finance reporting function
  • Lead and participate in functional and cross-functional performance improvement projects.
