About The Position

This role is responsible for the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts, Regulatory Accounts, and other external reporting matters required by legislation, listing rules, licences and external regulatory bodies. The position also assists with the financial close process, ensuring high-quality, timely, and consistent reporting. Key responsibilities include implementing new accounting standards, maintaining accounting policies, and providing expert accounting advice to ensure compliance and maximize value. The role supports the timely completion of annual tax packs, liaises with the Tax department, and manages the Fixed Asset Register and financial close process. Additional duties involve cash flow forecasting, emergency payment processing, critical balance sheet reconciliations, and leading the documentation of end-to-end processes and controls for regulatory compliance. The Senior Financial Accountant will also contribute to and support accounting policy or system changes, identifying potential risks or opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts, Regulatory Accounts, and other external reporting matters.
  • Assisting with the financial close process, ensuring high-quality, timely, and consistent reporting.
  • Implementing new accounting standards and maintaining accounting policies.
  • Providing expert accounting advice to all parts of the business.
  • Supporting the timely completion of annual tax packs and liaising with the Tax department.
  • Management of the Fixed Asset Register and financial close process.
  • Providing cash flow forecasting, emergency payment and clearing of payment files.
  • Undertaking critical balance sheet reconciliations including control accounts, fixed assets and bank accounts.
  • Performing intercompany reconciliations.
  • Leading the high-quality documentation of end to end processes and controls to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Contributing to and proactively supporting the implementation of accounting policy or system changes.
