As a Senior Finance Specialist - Project Management within PNC's Finance organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. This unique hybrid role combines traditional finance responsibilities with project-focused financial coordination within C&IB. Approximately 50% of the role is dedicated to core finance activities including budgeting, monthly close activities and forecasting. The remaining 50% is project management oriented where you will serve as the Financial Coordinator for C&IB projects. Project related activities include project budgets, forecasts and reporting across the project lifecycle. The position requires a close partnership with Program Managers, Project Managers (PMs) and Business Technology personnel.

Requirements

  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Budgeting, monthly close activities, and ongoing financial forecasting
  • Partner with Project Managers(PMs) and Business Technology teams on project financials
  • Develop and maintain detailed reports, tracking budgets, forecasts, and performance
  • Support data management initiatives and identify opportunities to improve processes
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables) for reporting and analysis
  • Designs and prepares timely, transparent, and succinct financial reports to enable informed decision-making by stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with business unit leaders to produce timely and precise revenue, expense, and staffing forecasts.
  • Develops strategic insights from data to enhance budget and forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborates with managers on, and may lead, annual budget cycle and continuous monthly forecasting.
  • Contributes to and may lead development of long term strategic plans.
  • Provides and presents business leaders and executives with key financial forecasts, metric-driven performance dashboards, and strategic business insights.
  • Performs on-demand analysis and generates custom reports to address specific business needs.
  • Collaborates independently with the business on implementation and compliance of new accounting and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitates audit, regulatory, and investor requests by providing timely and accurate information.
  • Promptly identifies and addresses control matters; maintains sound control processes.
  • May also contribute to risk review and challenge for assigned business.
  • Cultivates partnerships with colleagues across departments to ensure alignment and shared success.
