Senior Finance Manager

HoverSan Francisco, CA
$170,000 - $210,000Hybrid

About The Position

Hover is investing in its existing product suite and multiple nascent products to expand platform features, delight customers, and drive growth — and Finance sits at the center of those decisions. This is a high-ownership, individual-contributor role working closely with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, and R&D. You'll join a lean, tenured team where your footprint will be immediate: real exposure to executive decision-making, a flat structure that puts you close to the CFO, and a mandate to bring analytical rigor to how Hover allocates capital.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a finance business-partnership role with strong forecasting, variance analysis, and long-range planning experience.
  • Ability to build models from scratch with ambiguous or imperfect inputs, including scenario modeling.
  • Outstanding communication skills — able to distill complex analysis for any audience, from analysts to executives.
  • Fluency with AI tools as part of your everyday workflow.
  • Extreme attention to detail paired with a service mindset.
  • Experience with financial planning systems (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive, Pigment); Hover plans in Drivetrain.

Nice To Haves

  • ROI analysis experience in both GTM and product contexts.
  • A track record of using AI to remove manual work from FP&A processes.
  • Familiarity with metrics like NRR, sales payback, and Rule of 40.

Responsibilities

  • Owning business-partner relationships across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product, Design, and Data; driving the deeper analysis that turns "what happened" into "how do we make it happen"; influencing where Hover invests next; and raising the bar on how Hover's finance function operates.
  • Serve as the finance lead for cross-functional leaders through monthly closes, quarterly POR updates, the annual Plan, and the LRP.
  • Evaluate ROI on GTM and product investments and benchmark resource allocation against peer companies.
  • Pressure-test competing investments and give leadership a clear, defensible read on trade-offs.
  • Partner with G&A peers across HR, Accounting, and Recruiting, and contribute to executive and board-level reporting.

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a fast-growing company
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents
  • Unlimited and flexible vacation policy
  • Generous paid parental and new child bonding leave
