About The Position

The Senior Finance Manager provides a range of strategic Finance advice, analysis and support for key business areas/portfolios as assigned. Proactively manages senior relationships in order to provide seasoned and deep business insights, decision support and guidance and works closely with various stakeholders and team members as required. This role serves as a bank expert for a Finance function or discipline and/or portfolio or journey, accountable for leading or conducting expert financial analysis/research, reviews and/or audits to support functional goals/objectives. The scope may involve the integration of several key functional areas and/or business lines and requires a focus on longer-range issues, dealing with strategic and/or bank-wide organizational issues, and solving highly complex financial management/specialized accounting/taxation/audit/regulatory reporting and operational issues. The Senior Finance Manager is a primary interface with Finance partners/leaders and external parties, serving as a source of expert advice to senior management in their field of specialty, and may lead teams of related specialists/experts. They advise on execution strategy and lead the development and deployment of functional programs or initiatives within their own field or across multiple specialties, solving unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact. This role requires innovative thinking to develop new solutions and impacts the technical or functional direction and resource allocation of part of an enterprise function or business segment, working within general policies and industry guidelines. They engage stakeholders to take action, influence change, and frame information in a broader organizational context.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting or financial designation preferred
  • Communicating effectively with executive-level stakeholders
  • Master in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Interpreting large data sets and transforming them into clear, digestible communications
  • Works closely with business partners to gain deep understanding of the business and relevant objectives in order to contribute to the strategic direction of respective business and/or the enterprise
  • Formulates relevant and meaningful data analysis through comprehensive data visualization tools, profiling tools, segmentation, as well as leveraging advanced modeling and analytics
  • Leads on the interpretation of complex business issues, generates multifaceted insights and identifies opportunities to help drive business growth or address business/enterprise needs
  • Effectively communicates relevant/meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes to all levels within the organization
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for LOB Finance area supported and provides guidance/advice and recommendations to support dealings with internal/external partners
  • Identifies and develops key business performance measures or metrics for own area and ensures benchmark/best practice information is shared with appropriate parties
  • Works to maximize shareholder value by developing key strategies/tactics for own unit and by conducting business and/or financial analysis to support key business decisions and the achievement of business partner or department objectives
  • Leverages advanced data and analytics where possible to ensure business leaders are provided with comprehensive information to enable strategic decision support
  • Develops and/or assesses significant business cases/new initiatives applying expertise and ensuring criteria for own area are met (e.g., taxation, accounting practices, forecasted rates of return, evaluate outcomes, test assumptions, interface with others for appropriate input, identify benchmarks)
  • Proactively partners and supports the business to develop business, financial, operational, or organizational strategy for the organization
  • Ensures alignment between business segment and enterprise goals/thresholds
