About The Position

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Finance Director within the MedTech DePuy Synthes organization. This role will can be based in NJ/PA. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. The Global Senior Finance Director, Joints, Trauma, Digital & Commercial Excellence is a critical leadership role responsible for developing and executing the financial strategy for global businesses in partnership with senior business leaders. This includes forecasting, performance analysis, active engagement in Integrated Business Planning, risk assessment and management, and overall business support. The selected leader will be accountable for delivering financial commitments, improving forecast accuracy, and providing clear visibility to risks and opportunities while maintaining compliance across the organization. This leader will make recommendations and decisions that drive value through insightful, robust analytics, including sales force efficiency and productivity across both direct and indirect networks. The role will also support external business development opportunities by evaluating and challenging business cases and ensuring transparency in valuation assessments. In addition, this leader will partner with the business to influence pricing decisions and optimize deal economics through creative and innovative contracting strategies. The role will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage inventory, excess and obsolete reserves, and capital deployments, while also supporting the expansion of the digitally enabled field service network to improve asset utilization across the region. Key financial objectives include increased market share, optimized gross profit, price improvement, improved cost to serve, and greater utilization of inventory and instruments as fixed assets. This position will lead and prepare all business plans and forecast updates in close collaboration with business partners. The Senior Finance Director will be responsible for leading the performance, engagement, and development of a team of approximately 30 finance associates.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 12 years of finance business experience is required, with strong technical finance capabilities and demonstrated business partnership.
  • People management experience is required, including the ability to lead, engage, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to frame business results, translate insights into action, and communicate complex financial information clearly is required.
  • Ability to think creatively, work effectively in a team environment, and anticipate changing business requirements across a large, complex landscape is required.
  • Demonstrated digital fluency, including the ability to leverage data, analytics, and digital tools to improve decision-making, drive productivity, and enable business transformation, is required.

  • An MBA, CPA, CMA, and/or other financial certification is preferred.
