We are Seeking a Senior Finance and Operations Leader to join our growing team. The Finance & Operations Leader will have integral leadership responsibilities within the Finance Team of the Arrowhead Programs Division of Brown & Brown Insurance, in accordance with established company practices and procedures, including, but not limited to: Month End Close, Internal Controls, Accounting Projects and Technical Accounting Guidance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience in accounting or financial leadership role.
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing a team.
  • Experience in delivering projects and initiatives that deliver measurable financial results with a focus on driving organic growth.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with leadership in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office environment, including but not limited to, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with various projects within the Programs division, both at the Regional and Divisional level.
  • Review accounting processes and recommend changes or improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leverage software automation for process efficiencies.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Manage accounting operations including, but not limited to, monthly closing, management reporting, KPIs and internal controls.
  • Develop, prepare, implement, and ensure compliance with internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting operations to align with corporate internal audit guidelines.
  • Review monthly CSA's effectiveness within the Brown & Brown control environment.
  • Function as a resource to the offices you review utilizing a solid understanding of company accounting guidelines, control processes, and systems (financial and agency management).
  • Assist with due diligence and acquisition integration as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders (such as PCLs, Team Leaders, Functional Owners, Corporate Finance, Team Resources, IT, etc.)
  • Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, and technology including professional development and continuing education.
  • All other duties as assigned.
