About The Position

This position serves as a key leadership role within the Finance Department, responsible for overseeing core financial operations including payroll, accounts payable, and accounting functions, while advancing financial systems, analytics, and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of increasing responsibility in accounting in a similar organization.
  • Minimum of five years of supervision experience.
  • Advanced spreadsheet/data management skills.
  • Payroll and AP experience required.
  • System automation experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of payroll and accounts payable functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Review and approve payroll processing, including employee changes and reconciliations.
  • Ensure invoices and reimbursements are properly authorized and recorded.
  • Monitor cash disbursement processes and cash flow.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex issues.
  • Ensure documentation and audit trails are maintained.
  • Lead development of standardized financial processes.
  • Document all finance workflows.
  • Identify and implement process improvements where possible.
  • Act as liaison to the Human Resources department and collaborate with the Billing department to document related processes.
  • Lead automation of AP, payroll, and reimbursements.
  • Implement system-based approvals.
  • Partner with IT for system improvements.
  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain advanced financial reporting and analytics to support leadership decision-making.
  • Create automated monthly FTE analysis comparing budget to actual and prior year performance.
  • Improve expense classification and reporting to enhance financial transparency.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, proformas, and grant processes.
  • Document payroll services for MN-CIT., MHOC and the Medica Pilot program.
  • Ensure compliance, monitor policies, and identify financial risks.
