About The Position

The Senior Finance Accountant supports the business by providing timely financial analysis, actionable insights, and accurate accounting support. This role helps management understand financial results and trends, supports G&A business units as a finance partner, manages key treasury activities including cash flow and working capital support, and assists with accounting functions that help ensure accurate records, strong controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting, finance, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core financial concepts.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, take ownership, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret business, technical, contractual, and regulatory information; write clear business reports and procedures; and effectively present information to management, restaurant personnel, customers, and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tracking, maintaining, forecasting, and overseeing the movement of funds in and out of the business (treasury).
  • Assist with company credit facility; interest accruals, covenant compliance support, forecasting, lender requests, etc.
  • Period-end review and analysis of company financial statements utilizing a structured audit program for primarily G&A accounting units.
  • Assist in the coordination and support of our annual audit with our external auditors.
  • Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial results, trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reporting to support management decision-making.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process.
  • Leverage technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, enhance reporting, and support business insights.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and help implement solutions that simplify workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Assist in the rollout & implementation of various approved projects not only in the accounting department but across the business.
  • Assist with the implementation and adherence to various financial controls/policies such as: capitalization criteria, operational sales & cash, physical inventories, various tax filings, etc.
  • Assist with annual income tax requests from outside tax partner.
  • Oversight of the completeness of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all are completed on a timely basis and reconcile to supporting financial statements.
  • Responsible for substantive period-end balance sheet reconciliations covering assigned accounts.
  • Work with internal operations/departments as a business partner to provide analysis & oversight of financial results specific to their areas of operation.
  • Facilitate and maintain a complete knowledge of computer systems and City Barbeque policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a philosophy congruent with City Barbeque’s culture and serve as a leader to other staff members.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
