Senior Final Assembly Inspector (Friday-Sunday)
About The Position
The Senior Final Assembly Inspector is responsible for performing various inspection duties related to turbojet engine assembly, including in-process steps, torque verification, depth measurements, and compliance to defined specifications. This role also involves meticulous final assembly inspections, data collection and recording, and close collaboration with Engineering and Operations to resolve issues. The position requires maintaining document control in accordance with AS9100, AS9102, ITAR, and internal/customer requirements. This role follows a three-day workweek (Friday-Sunday) with three 12-hour shifts and includes a shift differential.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a quality position.
- Experience in an AS9100 (or similar standard) manufacturing and inspection environment.
- Experience with sub and final assembly inspection methods and tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Experience in creating quality documentation, such as non-conformances and CoCs.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality procedures and work instructions.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) - read, write, and interpret.
- Drawing interpretation background.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with production teams to correct issues quickly and keep operations moving safely and within quality standards.
- Ability to remain calm and objective in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform physical and visual electrical and mechanical inspections using measurement and test equipment such as torque wrenches, pin gages, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and height gages.
- Conduct final inspection of all engines after build/test activities and before shipment.
- Measure components and compare results to Engineering drawings and defined MES requirements, including GD&T and industry standard specification controls.
- Create, develop, and implement inspection processes based on engine needs and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with Quality, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve issues identified during product realization.
- Assist in creating and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), including calibration records, KPI tracking, and document control.
- Generate inspection documentation and collect/verify all data for customer data packets or CoC packets.
- Identify and record non-conformances using various software.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Review and provide input on MES work instructions as they are translated from Engineering drawings to shop floor processes.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, even during production challenges.
