About The Position

The Senior Field Technician provides skilled, proactive maintenance and repair support across multiple Fairfield Residential communities within the Houston, TX market. This dynamic role is ideal for an experienced technician who thrives on variety, enjoys working independently, and excels at handling diverse tasks such as HVAC repair, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting. With regular local travel supported by an auto allowance, you'll play a key role in maintaining our communities’ exceptional standards, while ensuring resident satisfaction and property excellence. HVAC certification, driver's license, reliable transportation and a proven track record in multifamily maintenance required; bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus. This is a 'second shift' opportunity with later scheduled working hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • HVAC certification required (Type II or EPA Universal)
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Reliable transportation is crucial.
  • 3-5+ years multifamily or residential maintenance experience
  • Experience with disaster preparedness and response
  • Proficient in apartment maintenance with hands-on experience in troubleshooting various systems
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliances
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • General computer skills including operating a mobile device
  • Superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations
  • Proficient in apartment maintenance with hands-on experience in troubleshooting various systems
  • Can work a later normal schedule, but also have the ability to be flexible on scheduling to include weekends and on-call hours to address emergency services

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance repairs, and HVAC repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • General maintenance and cleaning of grounds.
  • Efficiently complete assigned service requests, prioritizing based on urgency and community needs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and inventory tracking.
  • Prepare units promptly and effectively for new residents.
  • Adhere strictly to safety standards.
