About The Position

As a Senior Field Technician at Steri-Clean Virginia Beach, VA, you'll respond to biohazard, trauma, hoarding, and extreme cleaning scenes. You will be doing work that genuinely helps people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. You'll work to safely clean, remediate, and restore residential and commercial properties, following strict safety protocols and company procedures from start to finish. This is a physically demanding, emotionally mature role that rewards people who take pride in doing hard work well. If you have previous experience in cleaning, restoration, moving, or construction, you may be a good fit.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 1-2 years experience in restoration (leadership preferred)
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be prepared to commute to Virginia Beach on a daily basis
  • Must be able to work in a respirator and full PPE for long periods
  • Must be able to be on call some nights and weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to our office
  • Must be prepared to travel and stay overnight on occasion for out of town jobs (transportation and per diem provided)

  • Previous experience in cleaning, restoration, moving, or construction

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on specialty cleaning and remediation, including hoarding cleanup, biohazard remediation, rodent contamination cleanup, and odor treatment.
  • Bring relevant experience while learning and following Steri-Clean’s procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Help prepare job sites, equipment, supplies, and vehicles for efficient daily operations.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks, maintain attention to detail, and check completed work for thoroughness.
  • Identify and promptly report hazards, unexpected contamination, or additional service needs to management.
  • Communicate compassionately with clients, protect their privacy, and obtain required approval before discarding belongings.
  • Complete accurate job documentation, including photographs, work performed, supplies used, and outstanding concerns.
  • Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, initiative, and openness to feedback, with an interest in advancing within the company.
  • Lead assigned projects by organizing the crew, equipment, materials, and daily work plan.
  • Assign tasks based on crew members’ abilities, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to keep projects on schedule.
  • Train and mentor newer technicians on company procedures, equipment use, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor crew safety practices and address concerns promptly.
  • Inspect the crew’s completed work and ensure any missed areas are addressed before leaving the job site.
  • Serve as the primary field contact for management, communicating progress, challenges, and changes requiring approval.
  • Take greater responsibility for equipment care, vehicle organization, and supply readiness.
  • Help improve field operations and continue developing toward a crew lead or supervisory role.
