About The Position

We are actively searching for a Senior Field Technician to join the Côté Gold team, with a start date to be determined, and collaborating closely with site technical teams to ensure accurate, actionable field insights. The Senior Field Technician is responsible for supporting ore recovery optimization through geological data collection and interpretation. This role directly supports IMG’s purpose by enhancing resource recovery and operational efficiency, enabling smarter, data-driven mining decisions. Your work will contribute to sustainable production practices and help maximize the long-term value of the Côté Gold operation.

Requirements

  • College diploma in geological technology or another related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience managing or experience managing a drilling (RC or DDH) program
  • Proficient in computer applications and mining software, with strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license required, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team environments.
  • Capable of performing effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy, focus, and productivity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Mining Software Packages (MinePlan, Deswik, Leapfrog, OrePro3D. AcQuire) is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in mining (specifically open pit mining) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, recording, and analysis of geological field data to support ore recovery optimization and maintain accurate geological control of ore and waste.
  • Manage Grade Control (RC) Drilling program, liaising with engineering, operations and contractor groups to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations
  • Generate drill layouts, track meter progress and drillhole deviations throughout drilling program and maintain an accurate database
  • Compile, interpret, and report geological results, maintaining up-to-date plans, sections, and contributing to technical reports and production geology procedures.
  • Maintain databases and perform data analysis for production and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy through audits and timely data entry verification.
  • Develop and enhance real-time or near real-time reporting tools to improve data visibility and decision-making.
  • Demonstrate operational excellence by continuously improving skills, collaborating to solve problems, and evaluating risks across throughput, time, quality, sustainability, and cost.
  • Act as a team lead by mentoring junior technicians, leading field process improvements, resolving challenges, and applying innovative geological techniques to enhance performance.
