About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Senior Field Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in San Antonio, Texas. Requirements

• Five or more years of construction materials testing experience required
• Must possess at least one of the following certifications: ACI: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1; TXAPA Certifications (Level 1B HMA Roadway Specialist, Level 1A HMA Plant Production Specialist, etc.); ICC: Soils, Concrete, Masonry, Commercial Building Inspector, Spray-applied Fireproofing; NICET II (geotechnical or construction, or construction material testing or soils); AWCI EIFS inspector; UL or FM firestop examination
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
• Ability to climb occasionally

Responsibilities

• Performing a variety of testing (e.g., soil, concrete)
• Project-specific observation
• Inspection duties
• Provide assessment data under general supervision
• Utilize, read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods to observe site activities, perform tasks and give the interpretation of results
• Attend project meetings alone, without supervision, and communicate effectively with client and project teams
